Bill Rooney Studio designed the renovation of the Peninsula New York’s existing hotel bar lounge. Macassar ebony frames, strategic lighting, curated art, metallic sparkle, and a confident use of smoky blue define a new space with a classic scale. Finishings reflect the elegance of the Peninsula brand: rich wood tones, silk fabrics, supple leathers, rich velvets and polished nickel are juxtaposed with matte metallic finishes and beautifully book-matched stone surfaces and tied together by a plush, hand-tufted geometric carpet. The proportions of the room were transformed to create a venue with a mood appropriate for special moments, celebratory gatherings, or small business meetings.
