The Gregory is a historic boutique hotel located in New York City between Herald Square and Fifth Avenue. Bill Rooney Studio was responsible for the hotel exterior design direction and all of the interior design of the guest rooms, lobby, and bar.
As part of a multi-million dollar renovation, 132 guest rooms received a modern “face-lift” that highlights the original classic architectural elements juxtaposed against a curated modern aesthetic. The design draws its origin from its early 20th century heritage and the grandeur of the original hotel. By using a bright contrast of black, white, and gray, guest rooms were reinvented and edited to provide a fresh environment that highlights vintage architectural elements such as the bay windows, high ceilings, mouldings, and entry doors. Modern and graphic silhouettes of vintage fashion and iconic imagery add humor and interest to the rooms.
The well-appointed composition provides guests with a restful, modern environment that highlights the charm and grace of the original property.
